MRSI offers qualified and well-trained staff to provide Adult Day services. Services are available to those individuals that are no longer eligible for DD services. Under the Adult Day Services Waiver Rule, different programs exist. Adult Day Services are available for adults enrolled on Individual Options and Level One Medicaid Waivers administered by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD). The services include Adult Day Support, Vocational Habilitation, Supported Employment, and Non-Medical Transportation. Adult Day Support Services, other than self-employment, are provided separate from any home or facility in which an individual resides, focus on non-work activities, and include five components:
Vocational Habilitation services teach and reinforce concepts related to work such as: · Responsibility · Attendance · Task completion · Problem solving
Supported Employment services are intensive, ongoing supports that help people to perform work in a regular employment setting. Supported Employment does not include sheltered work or other vocational services furnished in specialized facilities. There are two types of Supported Employment Services:
Non-Medical Transportation includes transportation includes transportation services necessary for an individual to participate in Adult Day Support, Vocational Habilitation, and Supported Employment, as specified in an Individual Service Plan (ISP). Individuals can choose to participate in MRSI's Adult Day Support or Vocational Habilitation programs one to five days per week. Adult Day Support or Vocational Habilitation services will be developed and provided by MRSI based on the number of individuals seeking services and the type of services requested. To bill for service provided under the Waiver, consumers must be out of school and eligible for MR/DD services, choose MRSI as their Adult Day Services provider through the Free Choice of Provider Rule (5123:2-9-11), and the services MRSI provides must appear on the consumer's Individual Service Plan (ISP). ADULT DAY SUPPORTAdult Day Support programs are based on individual choices and needs. Topic or subject-specific activities and outings are planned with the consumers on a weekly or monthly calendar. Staff will assist and coach individuals to participate in activities at their interest level and with accommodations as needed. As per Waiver Rule, Adult Day Support services will focus on assessments, personal care, reinforcement of existing skills, self-determination activities, recreation and leisure activities, and building social and community relationships.
